A Chinese company's offer to buy the hard disk manufacturer has driven the US government crazy and has brought a lot of attention to high end technology being moved to the Chinese. This is especially important in the wake of the cyber warfare wing into which China has poured a lot of money. Seagate says that, as of now, it is not for sale, but if the price quoted is high enough, and the shareholders are interested, it could be impossible to stop the sell-off.
