NASA has built massively heat resistant chips using Silicon Carbide (SiC). While other chips fail after a operating a few hours at 350 degree Celcius, these chips have endured more than 1700 hours at 600 degree celcius. These chips may find application in places where chips need to operate at high temperatures for long times, like jet engines.
