Russian mathematician solves open problem at 63


Mathematics is usually said to be a game for the young, when the mind is more agile, typicall in the 20s and 30s. A Russian Mathematician challenged this idea by solving an open problem at the ripe old age of 63. The problem he chose was the Road colouring problem, and it is said that it could have its applications in graph theory and computers.
